And there it goes. This is a return back to 2009 when the relationship between the two were severely tested. Komeito has been losing relevance in the past few election results and Saito has mentioned before that they won’t be sticking around if the LDP appoints a leader that doesn’t align with their more moderate conservative views. And Takaichi appears to be just that.
